NCR COE

 

 

The National Capital Region College of Engineering (NCR COE) is located in the National Capital Region and is part of the College of Engineering. We provide a platform for engineering researchers to interact with academia, government and industry in this part of the country. Currently, NCR COE is involved with issues concerning transportation, systems performance modeling, water quality, geospatially enabled decision making, energy and the environment, computer networks, computer security, information technology, data visualization, digital library, medical informatics, fiber-optics, wireless & telecommunications, satellite systems, power systems, electromagnetics and more.

The four departments located in National Capital Region:

Two primary administrative and teaching facilities of the ECE department are located in Falls Church, Virginia. The ECE faculty and graduate student offices are divided between the Northern Virginia Center facilities in Falls Church and the Advanced Research Institute (ARI), Arlington, Virginia. Both locations have video classrooms and provide additional resources for interaction with the decision makers of our nation's capital.

Facilities where teaching and research activities take place in NCR include the Northern Virginia Center in Falls Church, the Advanced Research Institute in Arlington, the Occoquan Laboratory, in Manassas, and the GIS Laboratory in Alexandria. Most classes are held in the Northern Virginia Center, located next to METRO West Falls Church station.
